Some of'em appear to have a brain-
Sue Myrick, R-N.C., expressed the anger of many lawmakers when she sent Bush a one-sentence letter that read:

Dear Mr. President:
In regards to selling American ports to the United Arab Emirates, not just NO "? but HELL NO!

Myrick's office said she had been getting a lot of angry constituent phone calls and e-mail.

Firm's connection to Bush appointee... from msn- lease veto

I say we sell them the ports, then after 30 days, take them back with any force needed. Find a clause in the contract!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I say we keeo it ourselves and train our own people and create some jobs. As you can see I lean towards our administration on many issues, however I do not fall for them.

Bush doesn't take any crap, and that is what I like about him. I do not agree with everything he does by a long shot, but I like his steadfastness!!!!!!!!!!!!

I think you are right on his steadfastness and believe that is something that America as a whole does not have. We seem to want short, high-tech military campaigns with shock and awe that end in Washington D.C with massive parades down Pennsylvania Avenue on national television, such as we had in Desert Storm. Long, drawn-out wars of attrition, as in Vietnam and Iraq, will be a part of our past---not our future. That is why America will not respond to the Arab nations and their buddies (Russia) when they invade Israel. We have become a nation of fast-food, fast internet, fast pace of life and nation that does not want to take the time and have the will to do something that is not instant.
Lives of great men all remind us as their pages o'er we turn, that we're apt to leave behind us letters that we ought to burn.-----Anonymous

Because I can, haha- and the US will respond to ANY threat to Israel, the nukes they have had for years didn't fall off the oil rigs. As far as LONNNNG drawn out resource suckin' conflicts, without a real goal, somebody must be able to reason, as it is plain to see that our government couldn't decide what to do before they started this war. The goals seem to change a lot, from wmds to Saddam to rebuilding, to finding a way out without losing face. It appears as if we should have quit while ahead, I'd be willing to bet the prolonged stay played a part in the elections next door, and the growth of Hamas. At least the troops would have had some rest. If the intent was to stabilize the region, then we should have yelled "hot pursuit" and rocked right on across Iran before anyone knew we were coming- but I knew we didn't have that kind of leadership. Too many politics involved, but let's not waste the troops- make up our mind- get in or out. This is getting old. But we all know I'm crazy, ha ,like a fox. Let the troops run, hold the reins loose. This part of the world will bring about the END and the blood will be the blood of nations- OIL- running as deep as the horses bellys. Just a few more ODD deals to make the "roadmap" for peace in the middle east work and the last missing parts of the puzzle fall into place.

Re: What will we sell'em next?

If your analysis is right houndman...and there are plenty of reasons to believe it is...it does not bode well for a prolonged war on terror. The terrorists are counting on that lack of steadfastness and lack of will to stay in it for the long haul from us in order to have a chance to impose their will. They can not do it militarily because we are far superior in every aspect. They can only hope for Americans to lose the interest and will to defeat them completely and totally. Terrorists networks do have plenty reasons for hope right now with a divided ideaology among Americans on how to go about precipitating their demise.
